Trivia: In December 2003, shop workers in Austria demanded compensation for the “psychological terror” of being subjected to hours of piped Christmas music. A study by trade unions found that listening to endless hours of “Silent Night” and “Jingle Bells” made shop clerks “aggressive and confrontational.”
